This course offers a broad introduction to the material in the New Testament, including the Synoptic Gospels, the Gospel of John, the Acts of the Apostles, and Revelation. The characteristic forms and genres of these writings, as well as their individual concerns, perspectives, and historical contexts, are considered in the light of contemporary biblical scholarship and in relation to Christian faith and practice today.

This course explores the dynamics of conflict (interpersonal disputes) from a Catholic perspective. Attention is given to developing effective methods of resolving conflict for parish leaders and those working in ministry amidst an expanding culture of anger, disputes, and divisive discourse. Methods employed include (1) theological reflection upon selected texts from sacred scripture,as well as works of theologians, the Magisterium, and saints;and (2) developing and honing communication skills and conflict resolution strategies through practical exercises.

It explores its foundations, historical context, characteristics, spirituality, development and growth in light of contemporary pastoral practice.
